WHO DO WE SUPPORT?
We are living in the era of the climate emergency and policrisis, a term that defines the convergence of multiple global crises that interact with each other and amplify their impacts. The origin and perpetuation of the problem lie in the lifestyle that benefits a wealthy and powerful minority, primarily from countries in the Global North. For communities in countries of the Global South, this results in the denial of basic rights and the loss of livelihoods.
The movement for climate and environmental justice emerges from networks of Black, Indigenous, youth, and women activists and demands that systemic injustices be addressed in our global response to the climate emergency and other related crises. This implies placing the most affected communities at the center of solutions.
